Is Yundera real self-hosting?

Yes. Your data lives on your machine. Yundera handles naming and reachability (the control plane). Your app traffic goes directly to your PCS when possible. Only behind CGNAT does traffic travel through an encrypted WireGuard tunnel.

Is my traffic encrypted?

Yes. All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS). Use sslip.io for true end-to-end encryption, or nsl.sh subdomains for convenient encrypted-in-transit access.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Point any domain at your PCS using a Cloudflare CNAME record or a direct A record.

Where is my data stored?

All data stays on your PCS at your physical location. Nothing is stored on Yundera servers.

What apps can I install?

Immich, Jellyfin, Docmost, Uptime Kuma, n8n, and more. All install with one click and get automatic HTTPS.

Do I need technical knowledge?

No. Apps install with one click. Domains and HTTPS are automatic. Advanced users can SSH in and customize everything.

What if Yundera servers go down?

Your apps and data remain on your PCS. Local network access continues. Only nsl.sh domains would be temporarily unavailable.

Is NSL.SH open source?

Yes. Fully open source on GitHub at github.com/Yundera/mesh-router-root. Uses WireGuard.

How much does Yundera cost?

Yundera managed service costs 19.99 EUR/month with no hardware required. Alternatively, use NSL.SH for free with your own hardware.

What hardware do I need?

Minimum: 2 cores, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB SSD. Recommended: Intel N100 mini PC with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD.

How do I backup my data?

All data is under /DATA/. Use rsync to copy to USB or remote server. Automatic daily backups via cron.

Can I migrate from other platforms?

Yes. Export data from your current platform, install the same app on Yundera, copy data to /DATA/AppData/.

How many apps can I run?

No hard limit. RPi 4 (4GB): 2-5 apps. N100 (8GB): 5-10 apps. 16GB RAM: 10-20 apps.

What if my internet goes down?

Apps keep running on local network. External access stops. Everything reconnects automatically when internet returns.

How do I update my PCS?

App updates via dashboard. Data is preserved. System updates applied automatically or via SSH.

Is Yundera GDPR compliant?

All data stored locally on your PCS. Yundera servers never store personal data. Aptero is headquartered in Paris under EU law.
