What Is a Personal Cloud Server?
A Personal Cloud Server (PCS) is a machine — physical or virtual — that runs the Yundera software stack. It gives you a fully functional server with:
- A curated app store of Docker-based applications you can install in one click.
- Automatic domain names (
{app}.{yourname}.nsl.sh) and TLS certificates for every app, with no manual DNS or certificate setup. - A web-based dashboard to manage your apps, monitor resources, and configure settings.
What runs on a PCS
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| App runtime | Docker containers for each installed app (Immich, Jellyfin, Nextcloud, etc.) |
| Local mesh-router | Handles SSL termination and dynamic domain resolution on your machine |
| Dashboard | Web UI for managing apps, settings, and monitoring |
| AppShield | Authentication sidecar that provides SSO across your apps |
Where your data lives
All application data is stored on your PCS under /DATA/AppData/. When you install an app, its configuration and data stay on your machine. Uninstalling an app gives you the option to keep or remove that data.
User-facing directories are organized by type:
/DATA/
├── AppData/ # Per-app config and data
├── Documents/ # Your documents
├── Downloads/ # Downloads
├── Media/ # Music, videos, photos
└── Gallery/ # Photo gallery (used by Immich external library)
How you access your PCS
Once set up, your PCS is accessible from anywhere through your browser:
- Dashboard:
https://casaos-{yourname}.nsl.sh - Each app:
https://{appname}-{yourname}.nsl.sh
You don't need a public IP, port-forwarding, or any network configuration. The NSL.SH mesh network handles reachability automatically — even behind CGNAT.
