CasaOS Dashboard

CasaOS is the user-friendly interface that sits on top of your PCS. While the Admin Panel manages system-level settings, CasaOS is where you interact with your apps and files day to day.

Access it at https://casaos-<yourdomain>.nsl.sh/ (e.g. https://casaos-demo.nsl.sh/).

Overview

The CasaOS dashboard provides:

  • App Store — Browse and install applications with one click
  • Installed Apps — Launch, stop, and manage your running applications
  • File Manager — Browse, upload, download, and manage files on your PCS
  • System Widgets — Monitor CPU, RAM, disk, and network at a glance
  • User Management — Change your password and profile settings

Logging In

  1. Navigate to your CasaOS URL.
  2. Enter the username and password you set during PCS setup.
    • If you don't remember, check Admin Panel → System Information → Default User.
  3. Click Login.

App Store

The App Store is the easiest way to add new applications to your PCS.

Browsing Apps

  1. Click the App Store icon (or the "+" button) on the CasaOS dashboard.
  2. Browse available apps by category or search by name.
  3. Each app shows a description, required resources, and screenshots.

Installing an App

  1. Find the app you want and click on it.
  2. Review the app details and click Install.
  3. CasaOS will:
    • Pull the Docker image
    • Create the data directory under /DATA/AppData/
    • Configure networking and expose the app on its own subdomain
  4. Once installed, the app appears on your dashboard and is accessible at https://<app>-<yourdomain>.nsl.sh/.

Custom App Installation

For apps not in the store, you can install custom Docker containers:

  1. Click the "+" button and select Custom Install (or Install a customized app).
  2. Fill in the Docker image, ports, volumes, and environment variables.
  3. Click Install to deploy.

This is equivalent to writing a docker-compose.yml but with a graphical interface.

Managing Installed Apps

Starting and Stopping

  • Right-click an app icon on the dashboard to see options.
  • Choose Start, Stop, Restart, or Uninstall.
  • Stopping an app frees up system resources without removing its data.

  • Right-click and choose Update to pull the latest version.
  • Your data is preserved during updates.
tip

Before updating, create a backup from Admin Panel → Apps in case the update causes issues.

  • Right-click the app and choose Uninstall.
  • You'll be asked whether to delete the app's data.
  • Choose Keep data if you might reinstall later, or Delete data for a clean removal.
