Can I migrate from another platform?

Yes, in most cases. Since Yundera apps are standard Docker containers, migrating data from other self-hosting platforms is straightforward.

General migration steps

  1. Export your data from the existing platform (app data, databases, media files)
  2. Install the same app on your Yundera PCS via the App Store
  3. Copy your data to the appropriate directory under /DATA/AppData/
  4. Restart the app — it should pick up the existing data

Platform-specific notes

From YunoHost

YunoHost stores app data under /home/yunohost.app/. Copy the relevant data to your PCS's /DATA/AppData/{appname}/ directory.

From Umbrel

Umbrel stores app data under ~/umbrel/app-data/. The directory structure is similar to Yundera — map each app's data folder to the corresponding /DATA/AppData/ path.

From CasaOS

Yundera is based on CasaOS, so migration is the most straightforward. Copy /DATA/ directly.

From Docker Compose (manual setup)

Identify your existing volume mounts and copy the data to the matching paths under /DATA/AppData/$AppID/.

App-specific migration

AppMigration notes
ImmichCopy the PostgreSQL database and upload directory
JellyfinCopy the config and metadata directories
NextcloudCopy the data directory and database dump

What you keep

  • All your files and media
  • App configurations and databases
  • User accounts (for apps with their own auth)

What changes

  • Domain — your apps get new appname-you.nsl.sh URLs
  • Authentication — apps behind AppShield use Yundera SSO instead of the previous auth method
