What happens if my internet goes down?

Your apps keep running. The PCS operates independently of your internet connection.

What continues to work

  • All apps remain running and functional
  • Local network access — any device on the same Wi-Fi or LAN can access apps via the PCS's local IP
  • All data remains intact and accessible
  • Background tasks (backups, media processing) continue

What stops working

  • nsl.sh domains — appname-you.nsl.sh requires internet for DNS resolution
  • WireGuard tunnel — external access through NSL.SH needs an active connection
  • App updates — can't pull new Docker images without internet

Accessing apps locally

While offline, access your apps using the PCS's local IP address:

http://192.168.1.x:port

Your PCS's local IP is shown in your router's admin panel or can be found with ip addr via SSH.

When internet returns

Everything reconnects automatically. The WireGuard tunnel re-establishes, nsl.sh domains resolve again, and external access is restored. No manual intervention needed.
